This new one story high school with 146,000 square feet was completed Summer of 2012. It utilizes daylight harvesting in all major spaces such as the media center, cafeteria, gymnasium and main entry. This design feature will aid in conservation of energy and aid in cutting operating costs.
The school includes core classrooms as well as science, art, music, special education, and technical and career education. The major spaces are a cafeteria, kitchen, media center, administration wing and gymnasium. The project also included all athletic fields.
This new high school opened in the spring of 2009. It is a uniquely designed building which provides a modern learning environment within each instructional unit. The building shape follows the contours of the site to minimize grading, and is strategically placed to take advantage of northern light.
The school is also used for community functions and was designed with that in mind. With a large spectator gymnasium, a large entry and cafeteria adjacent for use as an atrium and meeting hall, the school is a valuable asset to the community.
